Notes from the Studio, Vol. 02
01. Spotlight on Lighting
Handmade in Brooklyn, the Stria collection by SIN marries the art of weaving with ceramic lighting. Each sculptural piece brings a tactile warmth and glow to any space. Nearly every piece is available in four finishes: obsidian, graphite, sand, and bone.

02. What is an elevation?
An elevation is a detailed, technical drawing that shows a vertical 2D-view of a space, as if you’re looking straight-on at a wall. Unlike a floor plan, which maps a room from above, elevations reveal the height, dimensions, and placement of each design element: cabinetry runs, tile layouts, lighting, and more.
Elevations are an integral part of the Studio Isaac process. They define proportions, align materials, and ensure every detail is intentional. These drawings bridge design and construction, giving clients confidence and builders a clear roadmap before project construction begins.

03. Kitchen Renovation
In Brooklyn, we’re refining the design for a kitchen that’s both bold and enduring. Think black-oiled walnut cabinetry, vintage brass, and the striking movement of cipollino marble.
Here are the inspiration images we collected:
With those inspiration images, we got to work designing the actual kitchen layout, floor plan, elevations and details. You can view the original kitchen on our Instagram.
Here’s how the rendering turned out. More to come on this project soon!
