Notes from the Studio, Vol. 01
01. Meet Gerald Isaac
With a love for layered, livable spaces, Gerald brings sensibility and a refined eye to every project. As Studio Isaac’s co-founder and design director, he leads with equal parts creativity and precision, centering clients’ needs in his designs.
From private residences to boutique hotels and restaurants, Gerald’s design work spans the globe. Even off the clock (is he ever really off the clock?), Gerald’s eye is on the details—scouting vintage watches and cars for unexpected material and color combinations. Brooklyn-based, Gerald is a proud cat dad. Henry (pictured below) is our unofficial studio mascot. Gerald leads with precision and passion to make every space purposeful, personal, and spectacular.
02. Sources of Inspiration
We’re in the initial stages of concepting and planning for a renovation in La Jolla, California. Here’s what we’ve been saving as design inspiration—click to view each photo in more detail. You can keep up with the progress on this project on our Instagram here.
03. Behind the Scenes
This week, we styled and wrapped up a photoshoot for a beachside home we call the Boardwalk—a laid-back, yet luxe coastal retreat with a custom kitchen, sun-faded textures, and a sandy palette. Here’s a sneak peek of the action. Final images from Make Collective coming soon!
